Exclusive: Meet Amb. Layefa Ike – Face of More 9ja 2018 Winner

Meet the winner of the maiden edition of Face of More 9ja Online Photo Contest, Miss Layefa Ike who is now known and addressed officially as Amb. Layefa Ike, More 9ja Ambassador. 

Let’s get to know her personality in an exclusive interview. 

Congratulations for contesting and winning Face of More 9ja 2018 Contest, Our esteemed audience would like to know you better, can you please introduce yourself? 

My name is Miss Layefa Ike, I’m 22 years old, an indigene of Warri South West of Delta State. I’m currently studying Accounting at Federal University Otuoke.

Wow, what an awesome personality we have here, Please how did you get to know about Face of More 9ja 2018?

Hmm, I came across the advertisement  of the contest while I was browsing the internet and I visited the website and registered online.

What motivated you to participate in our photo contest?

Actually, I got attracted to the flyer and the benefits motivated me alongside my friends that encouraged me to give it a shot and see how it goes.

What were the challenges you encountered engaging in the contest and how were you able to overcome them?

The contest was not an easy one as it was very competitive and challenging, my biggest challenge was soliciting for votes, I had to meet different people to vote for me both online and in person, I even went to the extent of going to public places to get people to vote for me, but with the help of God and the support of my friends and family, I was able to overcome and secure voters.

Like the saying goes, when there is a will there is always a way, your determination and hard work paid off eventually with you topping the votes at the end of the contest. How did you feel emerging as the winner of the contest?

I felt so happy because it was actually my first time participating in a contest this big and winning it was a dream come true, I always wanted to be a beauty queen and having a taste of it with a prestigious brand like More 9ja makes it more fulfilling.

Thank you for the compliment, Uneasy they say lies the head that wears the crown, as an undergraduate, how do you intend to cope as a brand ambassador and a student?

I’m hopeful i can cope very well because I believe there is time for everything and I have to schedule and plan on handling the two in such a way I won’t lose out on any.

It is nice to know you understand the concept of timing, our brand is interested in the personal and professional development of our ambassadors and would ensure you excel in your educational pursuit and also your ambassadorship. You are such an intelligent and outstanding personality, we would love to know who your mentor or role model is?

Well, my role model is my mother, from her i learnt moral and societal virtues that has been really helpful to me.

You were gifted with a rare mother, If every mother is like yours, the World would be a better place. Finally, What are your final words or message?

I want to say a big thank you to More 9ja for this opportunity and to my parents – Mr & Mrs Godfrey Ike, my siblings, course mates, friends, loved ones and all those that believed in me and supported me all through the contest.
